The TARA Clinic is a teaching clinic, supporting students and early-career clinicians to develop high-quality and ethical clinical skills in addiction treatment to improve the industry as a whole.

All learning occurs under clear informed consent, with clients always free to accept or decline observed or facilitated sessions, and with every clinician held to rigorous professional and ethical standards.

Someone.Health Bulk-Billing Sessions

Tara Hurster also gives back by offering a small number of bulk-billed sessions through Someone.Health, creating an additional pathway to care for people who may not be able to access The TARA Clinic’s programs.

With nearly 15 years of experience in addiction recovery and mental health, Tara Hurster is known for her no-nonsense, compassionate approach that cuts through shame and puts high performers back in control.

She founded The TARA Clinic (Therapeutic Addiction Recovery Assistance) to build a program that does what most treatment models do not: explain why the behaviour is there, and address that, rather than just focussing on stopping it.

Tara's own experience of recovery adds another layer of insight into her work. She shares her story openly to show what full recovery can truly look like. Her life after addiction was so full, in fact, that she once forgot she was even in recovery. For her, real recovery is not just about stopping a behaviour. It's about understanding what the behaviour was solving, and building a life where it is no longer needed.
