Welcome to The TARA Clinic, where TARA is an acronym for Therapeutic Addiction Recovery Assistance. I'm Tara Hurster, a psychologist deeply committed to changing the landscape of addiction treatment for those who want to excel in their personal and professional lives.
The ethos of The TARA Clinic is grounded in empowerment and understanding. Moving away from the traditional and outdated 12-Step approach, we focus on the individual, not the addiction. And that is why we get such great results!
Completing my psychology education with a Bachelor of Psychology from Western Sydney University and a Post Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology from Macquarie University, you can feel confident in my clinical understanding of addiction treatment.
I have been working in the area of addiction treatment for over a decade. And I have been in recovery for over 15 years from an 8 year long addiction to cigarettes as a teenager.
The recovery journey we take you through at The TARA Clinic aligns with my own experience, and I have been in complete recovery for almost two decades - to the degree that I forgot I lived with an addiction. You can do it too!
As we move forward, The TARA Clinic is set to lead a paradigm shift in how addiction is perceived and treated globally. We're not just offering treatment, we're championing a modern day solution and more effective approach to recovery.
