The 3-Step Blueprint to Lasting Recovery
A structured pathway designed for busy professionals who want practical, sustainable change.
Many people tell us they've tried to change their behaviour before, only to find themselves slipping back into old patterns.
This isn't because they're weak - it's because the traditional approach often skips the structure, sequence, and learning principles required to make change stick.
The 3-Step Blueprint to Lasting Recovery is designed to take you from clarity, to capacity, to long-term confidence, using adult-learning principles and a step-by-step framework that builds on itself.
This pathway is delivered in order, with each step preparing you for the one that follows.
How the Blueprint Works.
The Blueprint includes three full programs:
Every step is structured, guided, and designed to build on the one before it.
Each step supports a different phase of the change process and is aligned with the Stages of Change model to ensure you receive the right level of support at the right time.
Step 1: Recovery Kickstarter
Duration: 4 weeks
Readiness Required: Mid-late Preparation Stage of Change
Purpose:
Recovery Kickstarter helps you understand what is really driving the behaviour - because the issue is rarely the alcohol, drug use, gambling, or coping behaviour itself.
This step provides clarity, stability, and direction so you can finally see the full picture of what's going on beneath the surface.
Clients often tell us this is the first time the recovery process has made sense to them.
Focus areas include:
- Understanding the function of the behaviour
- Stabilising the emotional patterns contributing to it
- Learning the core principles of change
- Identifying what needs to shift for progress to begin
You will leave Step 1 with a clear map of what your recovery journey requires.
Learn MoreStep 2: Recovery Essentials
Duration: 12 weeks
Readiness Required: Late Preparation or early Action Stage of Change
Purpose:
Step 2 shifts from what is happening to why it developed. This step focuses on present-day behavioural patterns, decision-making habits, blind spots, and psychological loops that maintain the behaviour.
This program does not unpack historical trauma, because now isn't the right time for that. Instead, it teaches you how to recognise and change the patterns influencing your behaviour right now.
Focus areas include:
- Identifying triggers, patterns, and emotional habits
- Understanding why change feels difficult
- Learning practical skills that reduce reliance on unhelpful behaviours
- Building self-awareness and internal stability
Many people report that Step 2 helps them finally feel in control of their own decisions.
Learn MoreStep 3: Empowered Recovery®
Duration: 15 months
Readiness Required: Action Stage of Change
Purpose:
Empowered Recovery® is where long-term change becomes your new normal. This is an identity-level program designed to embed the tools and strategies that create lasting stability, confidence, and alignment in every area of your life.
The program includes more than 160 tools and strategies - taught and practised gradually - following adult-learning principles to ensure you build habits that stay with you long after the program ends.
Focus areas include:
- Strengthening new behavioural patterns
- Developing skills for long-term stress management
- Building an identity that supports lasting change
- Maintaining progress during high-pressure situations
- Practicing tools consistently so they become automatic
Many clients describe Step 3 as the first time they've felt genuinely empowered in their recovery journey.

Outcome data from clients who have completed our programs show meaningful improvements across alcohol and drug use, coping skills, and emotional wellbeing.
For example, people have moved from harmful or risky alcohol use into the low-risk range on the AUDIT, and from clinically significant drug-use scores to below-threshold levels on the DUDIT.
Several clients also shifted from high reliance on avoidant coping strategies to strong use of practical and problem-focused coping.
Measures of depression, anxiety, and stress (DASS-21) moved from clinical levels down into the normal range, and remained that way at long-term follow-up. Many clients also reported higher overall wellbeing at review compared with levels at intake.

These outcomes reflect how a structured and staged program can support positive changes over time.

Still have questions?
Here's what most high performers want to know before getting started.
Do I have to complete all three steps?
Ideally, yes. The 3-Step Blueprint is designed as a sequential pathway where each program prepares you for the next.
Recovery Kickstarter helps you understand what's driving the behaviour, Recovery Essentials builds the framework and awareness needed for change, and Empowered Recovery® supports long-term consolidation.
Skipping steps can leave important foundations missing, which might be why your previous attempts at recovery have failed.
So, our clients move through the Blueprint in order.
How do I know which step I'm ready for?
Your readiness is assessed during the Personal Recovery Assessment.
This structured conversation helps determine you current stage of change and whether you're best suited for Recovery Coaching or the 3-Step Blueprint to Lasting Recovery.
The goal is to ensure you begin at the right point so the program feels both achievable and effective for your circumstances.
As you progress, we will provide you with feedback and guidance on further readiness to ensure you're not moving too fast or stagnating.
What's the time needed for the Blueprint?
The full pathway spans 19 months: four weeks for Recovery Kickstarter, 12 weeks for Recovery Essentials, and 15 months for Empowered Recovery®.
Each step has a different focus and intensity, allowing time to learn, practice, and build habits gradually. This pace aligns with adult learning principles and supports sustainable, long-term change.
The minimum weekly time commitment for each program includes self-directed online learning (from 5-20 minutes), and your individual treatment session time (dependent on the program - up to 60 minutes).
