This disclaimer explains how The TARA Clinic Pty Ltd uses artificial intelligence (AI) and automated tools across our website (www.thetaraclinic.com), products and services. By using our site or services, you acknowledge and accept the terms set out below. This disclaimer should be read together with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

We use AI and automated tools to help operate and improve our business. This includes:

AI-assisted text, images and other content on our website, blog and social media

AI-assisted administration, such as drafting emails and sorting enquiries

AI-assisted clinical documentation, including AI note-taking tools used during sessions and AI help drafting session notes, reports and letters, with your consent as set out in our consent forms

Automated processing of bookings, purchases and enquiries, such as emails sent when you book or buy

The nature and extent of our AI use may change over time as our business and the technology evolve.

Section 2: Information is general only

AI-generated outputs are provided for general information and convenience only. They do not constitute professional, legal, financial, medical or other specialist advice, and should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. You should independently verify any information before acting on it.

Section 3: Accuracy and limitations

AI systems can produce information that is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or misleading, and may generate content that appears confident but is wrong ("hallucinations"). While we take reasonable steps to monitor and improve our AI tools, we do not guarantee that any AI-generated output is accurate, current, complete or fit for a particular purpose.

Section 4: Human oversight

Every AI-assisted draft is reviewed by a person before it is used. Anything AI drafts as part of our clinical work, such as session notes, reports and letters, is read thoroughly by a registered clinician (psychologist or counsellor) before it is finalised. If you believe an AI-assisted output is incorrect or unfair, you can contact us using the details below and request that a person review the matter.

Section 5: Automated decisions

We do not use AI or automated systems to make decisions about you or your care. AI is used only to prepare drafts, and all clinical decisions are made by our clinicians. If this changes, we will tell you in line with the automated decision-making requirements introduced by the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024. You can ask us how any decision about you was reached and request that a person review it.

Section 6: AI training and third-party providers

Our AI tools are used only by our team. You do not enter information into any AI tool on our website or as part of our services, and we do not use chatbots or virtual assistants to respond to you. Some of the tools we use are provided by trusted third parties, which may process information in order to deliver their service to us. Where a tool supports our clinical work, it is used only with your consent, as set out in our consent forms. We do not sell your personal information. Wherever a provider gives us the choice, we have switched off the use of our information to train its AI models. Each provider explains how it handles information and AI in its own policies:
